This series comprises records from the California district. They capture the district’s role as a vital regional hub within the wider church. These records reveal how the district guided and supported local congregations and clergy, implemented denominational policies on a regional level, and fostered church growth and ministry within the community.

In January, 1908, Rev. Melvin F. Pratt and wife were led to open a home in St. Louis, Mo., for fallen girls. It is known as the Beulah Rescue Home, and is located at 3103 Bell Avenue, in that city.

In the Spring of 1907, the Bethel Holiness Orphanage was launched at Carlinville, Ill., in the home of Rev. C.C. & Mrs. Myrtle Brown.
