      General note

"Four years ago [1903], the North Georgia conference was created, and during the four years of its existence, it has opened up a mission field in Alabama and now has a circuit there with 138 members known as Bibb circuit. (1907 General Conference Journal). 1911 stats: 1 church, 1 meeting house, 30 members. Four years ago, I was authorized to organize a Mission Conference among the colored people in Alabama to be known as the Central Alabama Mission Conference. Up to date there has not been a sufficient membership obtained to justify its being organized into an annual conference and I recommend that the territory of said Mission Conference be made a part of the territory of the Tennessee [colored] Conference." -E.Teter
