      General note

The earliest journal in our files is from 1897, which specifies it was the forty fourth annual session. Twenty-six churches reported at this session. At the 1949 conference, churches in this district were located in Iowa, Minnesota, and Illinois. At the 1949 conference, the churches in Illinois were legally separated and formed into the Illinois Conference of the WMC. The churches in Iowa and Minnesota retained the name “Iowa Conference” until the 1968 merger.
