      General note

The earliest journal on file is from 1937, which specifies it is the forty-fourth annual session. Seven churches in Oregon and Washington were listed in 1937. However, as early as the 1927 WM Discipline, the Oregon Conference was listed. Prior to that Discipline, Oregon and Washington were part of the Willamette Conference that also included California. The Willamette Conference first appeared in the 1896 WM Discipline. So apparently, the Oregon Conference continued the numbering of the annual sessions from the beginning of the Willamette Conference.
